I Need to Hover and Twinkle

Good group run this morning. My left foot was concerning me due to some discomfort. I had had a recurring cramp in that foot for several hours that just left it sore. So I ran with the run :15/walk :30 group, which I like a lot better than the :10/:40. I ran this morning with a local "celebrity", my friend, Nanette Rogers who just ran her first marathon at age 84. As I ran my foot loosened up, felt better and better as I ran, so my fear of another stress fracture dissipated. I could have run with a faster group; probably the :30/:30 group would be best. Next time. There are several people in our group running their first half marathon next weekend at Gasparilla in Tampa. I love their excitement! Hope I can get back to it. We'll see if doc will clear me. Fingers crossed. If not, I can stick to 5Ks and 10Ks but sure wish I could be like Nanette!

After the run I drove 30 miles or so to Round Dance lesson, mostly interstate driving. Did okay. We danced over an hour. Can't say we did okay there. For one thing, we missed the first 2 or 3 lessons before they combined our waltz class with the foxtrot class. We are the only couple from the waltz class; the other 4 couples dropped out, but they weren't coming very regularly anyway which was the problem. But I can say, we tried. Hubby not being able to wear his lenses I think is an issue, too. He really can't see the instructors but he gets mad if I say that. I just did not feel very sharp trying to dance what they were teaching, but if hubby is willing to keep trying I will, too. I am hoping to find some U Tube videos to help. I need to learn "banjo" from "sidecar" and how to hover and twinkle and maneuver. Think we've got the twisty vine, the box, the left turning box, right turns, pick up, and more down. Lots to know. I do feel like my brain is resisting learning directional things. Not a new issue. I was the one who had the most difficulty learning left from right when I was in kindergarten! Probably should keep trying.

Casey and I got our walk in. I need to go back and count the days. I haven't missed one since I started, now over 140 days in a row. It was 56 degrees for our run at 6am, but it is 79 degrees right now, breezy, sunny, and feels great.

Edit: I counted. Every day since Sept 23 = 146. Today was the 146th day in a row!

    I know that Gary is struggling without his contacts. Can he wear glasses? I forgot to ask you that the other day. It will indeed get better! Hugs!

    Nanette is amazing for sure, what incredible courage! You are doing pretty good with your health challenges still hanging in there. You can be proud of yourself. Like OKM said sometimes the mind is willing, but the body isn't up to it :-( Having continuing injuries is no fun.
    Way to go keeping up the challenge!

    As long as you're having fun dancing, I suppose I wouldn't worry too much. Can't be good @ everything!

    Sometimes we just can't have what we think we want, in terms of athletics. Listen to your wise body, and be healthy, as that's the most important thing, right?
