Consistency ~ My 90-Day Challenge

Today is Sunday!


Today is also February 16, 2020. Exactly three weeks since my last blog.
AND....
Three weeks until we return to DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME! (I really dislike changing time back & forth - but of the two, I like 'springing forward' one hour best!)


It's also the first day of my 90-Day Challenge in taking the Peak Performance Nutrition Pack (Longevity - for those of us age 50+)! I don't have a pic to go with this today, but will get one for a future blog post. Most of you may not realize what this 90-Day Challenge really is, so I'll explain it: Take these nutritional supplements for 90 days straight and if you do not feel any better the company will refund your cost for those supplements. Pretty cool, eh? emoticon
Thing is, I already know I will feel better in 90 days than I do today or have for some time now! emoticon How do I know? Well, several reasons:
1. There are now 4 (FOUR) separate, scientific studies that show the benefits. In one of them, the scientist in charge of the study decided to start taking them himself after completing that study. Previously he held the belief that nutritional supplements were a waste of money and did not do anything noteworthy to make us feel better.
2. I know several others who have done this same 90-Day Challenge and all of them saw some amazing improvements in their health.
3. I've taken them before. I've never managed to do 90 days straight yet!!! Therein is MY challenge!

Let me explain that last point even further. Y'all know I'm really not good at consistency, right? emoticon
That in itself is going to be my toughest obstacle in doing this!
In the past, when I have taken these supplements, even just a month, or a few weeks, or a week, even just a day... I do notice some good changes. A little less chronic pain. A little easier moving joints. Fewer headaches. Less allergic reactions. And a lot more I'm not thinking of right now. So, I'm not doing this to prove they don't work and then I get my money back. emoticon
If you've read much of my blogs in the last year or so, you've likely noticed that I've struggled with increasing pain & mobility issues. In general, if anyone looked over my medical records of the last year or two they'd easily see a downward direction in various health markers. Things like weight - I had lost 45 pounds in 2017-2018 but have regained at least 25 of that this past year. emoticon - or blood pressure - 2 years back most readings were below 120/80, now it's been as high as 149/96 & doc wants to consider meds! Other things like blood glucose & cholesterol numbers have also been creeping up. The interesting thing of note in these things is that a lot of my blood work was fine - at or below normal before I even lost that 45 pounds... and my doctors were pleased but surprised, especially considering my obesity. So, taking these supplements every single day for the next 90 days should reduce a lot of these concerns.
What I'm wanting to do, starting today, is share this journey of sticking with something for 90 days straight and document the changes that I'm noticing. There is a glimmer of hope that if I can do this for 90 days then it will help/encourage/motivate me to be consistent in other goals that I have had for a long time.


I truly hope I can say this 90 days from today!

Anyone have any thoughts on CONSISTENCY they care to share?

PS: I'm nearly recovered from recent car-accident-injuries - Tuesday doc should release me. Our car has been completely repaired and we are so grateful to have it back (sooner than the 3 weeks promised)! My daughter, Jessi, is still in a lot of pain and having significant difficulty moving her head, neck, shoulders, and upper back. New doc is seeing her now (since last Wednesday), every 2 or 3 days, working to release whatever is so stuck. She's also still having nightmares that rerun the crash in her head - so not sleeping too well either. emoticon Whiplash is worse in her than it was in me with this accident!


Good Habits --- are so much more rewarding!

    You've done a really important thing in sharing your commitment with this community. I've found that being accountable to a community beyond just myself really helps with keeping consistent. Somebody else knows I really want to be successful, so they help me by asking "How's it going?" So - if you want to - post in your blog every day something like #5 Took My Supplements!! Then we can celebrate with you (and you know your Sparkfriends are noticing!) You can do this!! emoticon

    Working towards consistency is my way of making this change. Focus on the next 7 days. You are a success if you are consistent 6 of the 7 days. Reset for the next 7 days. Repeat. Try to tie the new behavior to something you already do consistently, like brushing your teeth, morning coffee, etc.

    Perfect is unrealistic for most things especially if doing something consistently is new to you.

    The more forward progress you make on this the easier it becomes.

    Glad that the car is repaired. Glad your feeling better. Sending prayers that your Dd also feels better. Hard to recuperate from such a trauma. I know my DD was in an accident 3 yrs. ago and she really had a tough time of it afterwards.
