Stress

Okay so I have a lot going on right now. They one thing that I really need help with is dealing with a coworker that stress me the hell out!
She is crazy and all over the place and is dealing with her own stuff to. I get that! But really people I am so stressed that I have to talk my self into going to work. I have to remind my self daily not to punch her beI don’t look good in orange. I have talked to my supervisor more then once. Who is trying to work on moving me ( but we are already right on space) and just keeps reminding me that we haven’t seen the real her ( because of all the stuff she has dealing with)

I am stress eating. I feel like pulling all more hair out and I am losing interest in my job and well just about everything right now

    Stress is a killer. Be kind to YOU. I don't know what your job is but I am thinking about you today. Try to look for ways to take care of YOURSELF that will allow you to focus on YOU and less on her. I have a depressive anxiety disorder and sometimes being around people is hard for me. I have had to develop little matras that I can repeat in my head... or songs to sing inside my head to keep me from feeling like I need to RUN. I'm here for you, as are many of your SP friends. VENT AWAY. We're willing to listen. This is a safe place.

    It sounds like a really difficult situation but you must remember that you can only control how YOU react to her actions and words. There is no way to control what she does or says. I know that is easier said than done but you will exhaust yourself allowing another persons actions to stress you out. According to one Buddhist saying “If the problem can be solved then why worry? If the problem cannot be solved then worrying will do you no good.”

    I wish I could offer advice. If you've talked to your supervisor that's pretty much the most I would be able to suggest. I hope she sorts her mess out and turns out to be a tolerable individual after all.

    Do you have someone outside the company that you could talk to? Sometimes people who are as stressed as you are feel better by having a confidential talk with a sympathetic listener. Sometimes you have to pay for a counseling session but they usually charge on a sliding scale. I did that when my kids were teens and I had a lot of stuff going on. You might have a relative you trust. Maybe a friend with good insight. Maybe a religious counselor. I know our pastor counsels other members...of course I don't know who because that is confidential.

    It sounds like your supervisor is on your side, but his/her hands are tied because s/he isn't the boss and can't do much to help.

    Is there one particular trait that your co-worker does that bothers you the most? If so, could you confront her very respectfully and say something like, when that action happens, I feel.... Fill in the blank. It's important NOT to use the word YOU when you do this. Stay as neutral as possible...like the weather. When it thunders, I feel... Fill in the blank. When screaming happens, I feel.... When I hear a lot of chattering, I feel.... or I feel much better in a quiet environment. I had a female supervisor who liked to play with my hair. She kept it up even when I asked her to stop. So, good luck. If it is that bad for you, I think you'll have to find another job. That's what I did.

    I feel EXACTLY the same way except mines INCLUDES kids from my bus....dbl whammie for me and I hate going to work and am at the point where I'm gonna walk in one morning, leave my badge & walk out. I've done it before. Good luck & stay strong!
