February 26, 2020 GOOD HEALTH
We all want a healthy life. Health is not just about our bodies even though that is where many of us focus. For a firm foundation in God, we need a healthy mind, spirit and body. That covers our mental health, physical health, emotional health and even our financial health. Good relationships play a part in our health as well. A healthy life begins in our mind and where our thoughts are. Garbage in. Garbage out. However, when we focus on God by reading His word, praying and worshiping Him, He will help us have a healthy life.
Ecclesiastes 5:19 “And it is a good thing to receive wealth from God and the good health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life—this is indeed a gift from God.” (NLT)
1. Write what area of your life is not healthy.
2. List the things you can do to improve in that area.
3. Know God can help you improve your health.
4. Seek His word and His ways so He can renew you.
Dear Lord, we pray You will help us to focus more on what we need to do to improve our health. You want us to take care of our bodies. You want us to fill our minds with Your word and fill our hearts with Your love. We know when we do this, You will help us to have a healthier life. Show us Your way, today, Lord. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
Rather than focusing on what is wrong with our lives, let’s focus on the good God has blessed us with and the new strength He can give to us to improve our health.
Isaiah 40:31 “But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” (NLT)
When we allow God to renew our hearts and spirits, we can enjoy the good health He has blessed us with.
Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.” (NLT)
God wants to renew our thoughts and attitudes so we can better enjoy our health.
Ephesians 4:23 “Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.” (NLT)
