1. "Why am I starting a weight loss journey?"
Wednesday, March 04, 2020
Tomorrow starts the biggest Loser Spring Challenge and I'm so excited to meet the challenge head-on.
I feel as though I've been on a weight loss journey my entire life. I was an obese child, I lost weight as a teenager but then steadily gained weight over the course of an unhappy 18-year marriage. We divorced 16 years ago and I became the thinnest I'd ever been in my life. I kept the weight off until 5 years ago. I went through a lot of loss in my life and ate my way through it all.
I'm 60 and I was of the belief that menopausal women naturally gain weight - NOT true, of course, I was fully conscious during all my poor eating habits; I KNOW how I gained weight. Since October of 2018, I've lost approximately 10 pounds. While that's wonderful, and I am proof that we women of a certain age can lose weight, I have to work harder at taking care of myself. I don't know how many more years I will be allowed to enjoy this Earthly life but I want to live the remainder of my years as healthy as possible. I know I haven't taken my health seriously and I can do better.
That's what I plan to do during this upcoming challenge; to do better.
Best of luck to all of you on your own individual journeys
