Final Day

It is the final day of the winter challenge and of our LTGL challenge for blogging.

As I mentioned at the beginning of the week, I am not a blogger but it's fun every now and again to do a week of blogging. I've had the opportunity this week to write about activities that interest me and keep me moderately busy in my retirement. Thanks to all who have taken time to read my blogs or leave a comment. I've tried to do the same for my team mates - not all of them are bloggers either!

The winter challenge is drawing to a close even though it still looks very much like winter outside my windows - and will for a few more weeks most likely. Winter and spring in Canada can be very unpredictable these days! This has been an interesting challenge for me. I have - for a change - actually lost about half or a a bit more of my challenge weight for the first time in ages. Admittedly some of that weight was the result of my 'Christmas eating' - I like to bake during the holiday season - and enjoy eating it just a bit too much! However, during many of my challenges in the past three years or so, I've not lost more than a pound or two, or bounced around and landed pretty much where I started or even gained a bit, so it's nice to see not only the holiday weight disappearing but also the scales going emoticon to numbers I haven't seen for some time.
The most interesting thing that happened to me this challenge was being asked to come aboard as an EL for the Awesome A team - a team that I've been with since I started doing the challenges in the Spring of 2016. I decided to take on the task for the last couple of weeks or so of the challenge and will continue as an EL in the spring.
I feel that I've ended this challenge strong -which hasn't always happened and maybe taking on a new role has helped with that.
That being said, I will enjoy the little break from posting - aside from some chatting - for the next four weeks although as part of the leadership team I will no doubt be a bit busier as the team gets organized for the spring. While I will take a break from posting, I will not take a break from healthy living and exercise as I have a weight loss goal to meet by the end of July. Challenge or not - eating well and exercise need to be a part of my life to maintain my weight - or lose some that has come back - and to make sure my golden years are just that - golden.

    Great blog for the last day of this challenge. This is the only active team challenge I've done - any and everything else has been solo, no accounting except to myself. The friendly "competition" is emoticon and I think makes it more fun!
