Thought and Prayer for Monday, March 30, 2020

We all deal with suffering at some point in our lives. Some suffering is due to things we can’t control. Other suffering is due to our own poor decisions. However, the outcome from suffering can be the same. We can choose to surrender to God for strength. We can remember we can’t tackle problems effectively on our own. We need God. So whatever we are suffering from, we need to admit we need God, go to Him, and ask for His help. Surrendering to Him means we let go and let Him take control.

Isaiah 40:29-31 “He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” (NLT)

1. Write out what issues you are dealing with.
2. List the things you should turn over to God.
3. Acknowledge your limitations and admit you need God.
4. Surrender your life to God for strength.

Dear Lord, these times we are in are so unpredictable. Help us remember to surrender our lives completely to You every day – every moment. We know we are weak but you are strong. We need You, Lord, to get us through these tough times. Show us what we can do today to obey You and to help others who are also struggling. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we are going through hard times, we should reach out and help others. Then we are doing good and also taking our mind off our issues.

1 Peter 4:19 “So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.” (NIV)

We are to stand firm against the battles in this world knowing we have the strength of God on our side and the body of believers to lean on.

1 Peter 5:9 “Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.” (NLT)

We need to remember we can get through anything when we put God first in our lives.

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (NKJV)
