April 1, 2020 PERFECT PEACE – 30 DAYS OF MEDITATING ON THE WORD OF GOD

Enough cannot be said about peace right now. The opposite of peace is turmoil and strife. It has been said we are fighting an invisible enemy right now. That is true; however, we have been fighting an invisible enemy since the beginning of time. Satan, who we cannot see, does not want us to have peace. He will send wars, destruction, sickness, death and anything he can to keep us from experiencing peace.

Perfect peace begins inside of us. And it comes from God. We can decide if we want Satan to control us or if we will choose God. We can’t control the turmoil of the world, the media, the virus, or anything else. However, we can control ourselves. We can choose God. We can choose His peace. We can do that by choosing what we put in our minds and hearts. Meditating on God’s word will bring peace.

SCRIPTURE:
Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. Write what keeps you up at night.
2. List things that come to your mind and worry you.
3. Know meditating on God’s word will bring peace.
4. Choose to meditate on His word all day long.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, we know we can’t have real peace without You. When we focus on You and meditate on Your word, we can experience perfect peace. Remind us to meditate on Your word all throughout the day. We thank You for Your promise of perfect peace when we trust in You and fix our thoughts on You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

TODAY’S MEDITATION:
Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” (NLT)

John 14:27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” (NLT)

Philippians 4:6-7 “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (ESV)

APRIL CHALLENGE:
This month we focus on meditating on God’s word. Practice meditating on God’s word all throughout the day for the next 30 days. Experience and journal the changes God makes in your mind, heart, words and actions. Thank Him for these changes as you draw closer to Him. And remember God is in control!
