April 2, 2020 KNOW THE TRUTH – 30 DAYS OF MEDITATING ON THE WORD OF GOD

It is so easy to get pulled into heated discussions regarding the things of the world. We witness people arguing over so many things these days. Sometimes we find ourselves getting riled about things that are not even true. Unfortunately, exaggeration, lies and underhandedness is the norm. We need a way to devise the truth and separate ourselves from the lies so we are not pulled into all the drama.

Fortunately, we can know the truth by studying God’s word. Everything He is and does is truth. His word can help us seek out the truth in any situation. When we study God’s word, we learn of His truths. We learn Jesus is the truth and His word is truth. It just makes sense we would want to meditate on God’s truths in His word. Then we will forget about the lies of the world and will indeed be blessed.

SCRIPTURE:
John 8:32 “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (NKJV)

ACTION STEPS:
1. Write what you know about God’s truths.
2. List what Scripture you can find regarding truth.
3. Be sure to stay away from the lies of the world.
4. Take time to meditate on God’s truth today.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, we know this world is full of lies. We know we can easily get wrapped up in the lies and move away from You. We want to focus more on Your truths. We want to meditate on Your word. As we take time today to meditate on truth, show us how we can better discern truth from the lies in this world. We look to You and lean on You to fill our minds with Your truth. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

TODAY’S MEDITATION:
Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true…meditate on these things.” (NKJV)

Psalm 1:1-2 “Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night.” (NLT)

John 14:6 “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” (NIV)

APRIL CHALLENGE:
This month we focus on meditating on God’s word. Practice meditating on God’s word all throughout the day for the next 30 days. Experience and journal the changes God makes in your mind, heart, words and actions. Thank Him for these changes as you draw closer to Him. And remember God is in control!
