Thought and Prayer for Friday, April 3, 2020

Friday, April 03, 2020

If we are going to meditate on good things so we can have a better attitude and live a better life, why not meditate on what God says should be our highest priority in life? God tells us the greatest goal we should set in our lives is love. God says love should be part of every part of our lives.

When we get into God’s word and meditate on it, we can learn what love is and how to take loving actions toward others. This world needs love. God is love. This world needs God. Meditating on God’s word about love will help us to point others to Him in our words and actions. God tells us what love is, how to achieve it, and reminds us in His word that love should be our highest goal.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 “Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.” (NLT)

1. Write what you do to show love to others.
2. List ways you can share God’s love with people.
3. Know God wants love to be your highest goal.
4. Seek out Scripture about love and meditate on it today.

Lord, You tell us to do everything in love. You remind us love is the most important goal we can set for our lives. Help us to stay in Your word and read about how to show love to others every day. Remind us what Your love is in our daily walk with You so we can share it with others. Love is the answer to all things. Help us to remember to meditate on Your word and make love our highest goal. We want to show the attributes of love in all we do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

1 Corinthians 16:14 “And do everything with love.” (NLT)

John 13:34-35 “So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” (NLT)

1 Corinthians 14:1 “Let love be your highest goal!” (NLT)

This month we focus on meditating on God’s word. Practice meditating on God’s word all throughout the day for the next 30 days. Experience and journal the changes God makes in your mind, heart, words and actions. Thank Him for these changes as you draw closer to Him. And remember God is in control!
