A Dreary Friday

Friday, April 03, 2020

As I sat on my porch last night, waiting for my DH to get home from his long day work trip, this is what I saw. The sun setting over the river in beautiful color.
As I sat there, my DS called ( he lives around the corner)HIs car had broken down a few houses away from mine and was looking for his Dad to help push him into our driveway. Dad was not here.
In a few minutes I was his car being pushed by one of our neighbors. It is nice to know people can still show kindness during these rough times.
They got it as far as the street end of our driveway, blocking it. I knew DH would be home within the hour and texted him to use our neighbor's side of the driveway to get in.
DS worked in the dark trying to get it to start long enough to move it up near our garage.
This morning bright and early he was out there working on it again. Of course DH had to go out to see if he could help. Thankfully they kept their distance from each other, so hard when it is your child.
It is another dreary, cold, damp day here. I find it harder to be upbeat when it is day after day of this kind of weather. SO I begin to count all of the things I have to be grateful for. First on the list, is grocery delivery tomorrow, after two weeks of no groceries.
I hope you all have a safe and healthy day.

Hope DS got his car fixed and running. Public transportation, when available, is no longer safe.

    Happy Friday!! emoticon

    Good luck w/your grocery delivery.

Glad the neighbor helped your DS get his car into your driveway! Sometimes things like that just restore your faith in humanity.

Started off w/some sun, but cloudy right now.

HUGS and stay safe, stay well.

That scene is just GORGEOUS! I know it's hard to keep spirits up, but I am so proud of you for doing so anyway and just pushing through being grateful!

Grocery delivery IS something to be grateful for AND to something to look forward to as well! I wish i could predict my needs AND have the money to pay for 2 weeks worth of groceries at once, LOL! I'm sure it's easier said than done!

Gorgeous picture! It is a difficult time for sure---when grey skies and winds blow. The sun peeked out for maybe an hour yesterday; we could feel it lifting our spirits---but then it was gone. I am glad your son got help w/ his car---and it is wonderful that there are still caring people in our world. Well--now to make the bed, shower, and try to stick to my routine as much as possible, w/out the social mingling. SO glad we have sparks and one another--It really does help! Take care---- emoticon
