April 4, 2020 PROSPER AND SUCCEED – 30 DAYS OF MEDITATING ON THE WORD OF GOD
We all want to prosper and succeed; however, success has different meanings. As young people, we have a strong desire to succeed in life. As we grow older, we still want to succeed but the meaning of our success has changed. As believers, we need to understand God’s definition of being prosperous and successful. Again, there are many definitions of success but the only one that matters is God’s.
God tells us to meditate on His word day and night, obey Him and then we will prosper and succeed. We could have all the riches in the world but if we don’t study God’s word and obey Him, we won’t be successful at all. The world’s success is empty, lonely and worthless. Being successful according to God’s will is fulfilling, peaceful and eternal. Let’s meditate on God’s word and receive His blessings of success.
Joshua 1:8 “Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.” (NLT)
1. Write where you have succeeded in life.
2. List what God tells you to do to succeed.
3. Know God’s success for you is greater than this world’s.
4. Study and meditate on God’s word. Obey Him and thank Him for your blessings.
Dear Lord, we know You give us the recipe for success. We may attempt to succeed in many other ways but we will not truly be satisfied until we succeed according to Your will. Help us to see we need You in all things. We want to draw closer to You, meditate on Your word and obey You. Please allow Your Holy Spirit to direct and guide us today as we meditate on Your word. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Proverb 16:3 “Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.” (NLT)
Psalm 90:17 “And may the Lord our God show us his approval and make our efforts successful. Yes, make our efforts successful!” (NLT)
2 Chronicles 31:21b “Hezekiah sought his God wholeheartedly. As a result, he was very successful.” (NLT)
This month we focus on meditating on God’s word. Practice meditating on God’s word all throughout the day for the next 30 days. Experience and journal the changes God makes in your mind, heart, words and actions. Thank Him for these changes as you draw closer to Him. And remember God is in control!
