Just wondering.

Thursday, April 23, 2020

I have been sick for close to a year with my leg. I have a nurse who comes and see me twice a week. It starts to heal and I do well with my diet. Then for no reason my leg will start taking a turn for the bad. That will cause me to to stop my diet and doing everything that I know is not good for my overall health.
Wondering if this cycle will ever end. As long as everything is works in my favor. I'm doing good and holding steady. But when life kicks in I'm like why bother.
Am I the only person that does this? I'm going to try and stop this and move forward. I have to teach myself to take life as it comes and for what it is. It's time to put my big girl panties on and fight like a champion!

Ruth you are not alone - personally i think the more we have to lose the harder we are on ourselves. And a lot of that is i find that most of us with lots to lose is we reward everything we do with food - i am sad - eat / I am happy - eat / i feel grateful - eat / i miss my kids - eat = you get the picture. We really need to think of food as what we feed our body so we can be with our kids, grandkids, husbands, friends, go for a walk, swim, dance, - whatever we just need some nourishment in order to survive we don't need all those little extras - and that is where i get stuck. I too have been struggling but am determined to pull up my panties as you said and eat only health foods, having 3 meals a day (and personally i am off all sugar and flour), measuring all my food and writing down everything i plan to eat for the day and then committing to it - email me if you want some encouragement as i know it is difficult.

I share this same behaviour with you. It came up for me today in fact, when I was doing my bible study and journaling. Here is what I wrote (Take what you like, leave the rest ). God Bless.

Ask for Help: from God, and humans you trust. Reach out and hang out with people who understand and can help from a spiritual perspective as well as an earthly one.
Be Kind to yourself. When you mess up.
Mat22: 39 Love others as you love yourself....means you need to love yourself too! Jesus commanded it.
Phil 3: 13 But I forget what is behind and I struggle for what is ahead.
