The Exception Proves the Rule

I always sleep like a rock, but I had a bad dream last night that has stayed with me all day. The dream was a remembering of an unpleasant event that happened on #3 son’s fifth birthday. The event was minor, but what affected me most about the day was how tired I was. I was so tired because I’d had four miscarriages before his birth, there were two more babies after his birth, our last baby would have been a twin, and I felt as if I hadn’t slept for five years. I was happy to wake up from that dream; yet it lingered during breakfast and all the while I cleaned out my spice cabinet.
Coincidentally, that son’s 5-year old daughter FaceTimed me while I was preparing lunch, this afternoon, and I ate while we had the best visit ever! Her parents are super nice people, and their two children are terrific! That video-chat will stay with me through bedtime, and I hope to re-live it in my dreams.
