3 Weeks Later
Sunday, May 24, 2020
On Sunday May 3 I weighed 133.4 and wrote that I wanted to lose 5 lbs by June 17.
Today, Sunday May 24, I weighed 132.8 with a 7 day running average weight of 132.4. Best case...1 lb loss in 3 weeks. Quite short of my goal! I am averaging a net of about 1300 calories per day.
I have 24 days and 4 lbs to go to reach my lofty (unattainable??) goal of 128.4 on June 17. That's 1 lb every 6 days.
I keep a history of my tracker data from 2013 forward. For the last 5 years when I have lost weight I've kept my net calories under 1200 per day closer to 1100 daily actually. The BMI figures don't seem to apply to me. Everything I read says my BMI is in the 1500 calorie range. Nonsense! The most recent period that I lost weight was June 2019 when I lost 3 lbs. My average net calorie intake was at 1124.
Ok...new goal...
weigh 130 lbs by June 17.
That is 2.4 lbs in 24 days. About 1.5 lbs every two weeks.
If 1 lb is 3500 calories then that's 8400 calories/24 days=350 calories per day deficit.
I'm going to set my net goal at 1100 net calories per day.
My two problems are:
Alcohol calories
High calorie snacking (chips, sourdough bread, peanut butter)
Pandemic brain! My grocery shopping is curbside pickup & I never know what I'm going to get so I order all kinds of things that I would not normally buy. Plus there is the fear of the supply chain breaking down that causes me to buy more than normal. And then...we MUST eat all this food!
Solution: 1-limit alcohol calories to 200 per day (no wine except on Saturday), 2-throw out the chips, peanut butter & sourdough bread! Snacks will be fruit & raw veggies.
I'm doing good with working out so I need to keep that up!
