It's been about 5 years since I joined SPARKPeople.
Reflecting on this, I recall I thought I knew it all, that weight loss would be easy.
It turns out I really had a lot to learn. Turns out I knew very little. I was a subscriber to calories in = calories out formula. Over time, I discovered this was not true. Turns out that no matter how hard I tried to exercise off my "calories in", I was still gaining weight. My weight would fluctuate wildly. The harder I tried, the worse I got at it, each time, gaining back more weight, like an out of control YO-YO.
The harder I tried to exercise it off, the more injuries I received. What was I doing wrong?
It took me two to three years of banging my head until I realized the real problem.
The real problem was the food I was eating.
I discovered that the real enemy was my poor nutrition. Looking for answers, I went on an Internet search for clues. Over time, I found what I was looking for.
My problem was sugar, not lack of exercise.
I started looking at the labels on all my canned goods and was shocked at the amount of sugar I was consuming. It's in all processed foods. How much is too much?
