LONG hike, dexcom continuous glucose monitor
Wednesday, June 10, 2020
Today I did a really long hike! It was 79 active minutes and over 2 miles, up and down hills in the woods. By the end I really had reached my limit, but I’m super proud of myself.
A few weeks ago my insurance company made me aware of a free program for type 2 diabetics that they offer, and I signed up. They are sending me FREE Dexcom continuous glucose monitors (cgm)s every month while I participate in this program. Within the first 4 weeks of the program I have reduced my average blood glucose level by 20 points ! I’m doing low carb but not keto, and it seems sustainable for me.
My weight hasn’t changed much in the past 2 weeks but I am definitely getting healthier. I’m thinking next week I will see a loss — I just need to get my sleep sorted out. That’s the last key to this puzzle.
