Moving is a First Class Stressor!

We closed on our lake house June 1
and we've rented it for the month so we can get it packed up and cleared out. The closing was remote and went through with almost no hitches (one little one that just got resolved). Money is in the bank
The last time I moved I said "never again" and now I remember why I said that!
Thought we had gotten rid of a lot but not really. Have donated BAGS of clothes and shoes and Habitat for Humanity is coming on the 16th to pick up a lot of the furniture. Someone is buying some of the stuff and we've given things away and have some things coming to NY for eventual trip to Florida.
This whole experience reminds me yet again of how important my routine is. Yes we are walking but that's about it for routine. Back and forth to the house packing and bringing things back to NY. Even Fletcher is stressed!
The by-product for me is more night time eating than I've done in years! Yes, an extra glass of wine to relax and then the desire to have a snack sets in. And I don't feel as good the next day because the extra wine and sugar are not a good mix for a restful night of sleep.
I'm aware of what I'm doing and maybe that is the first step to managing it? For now I'll stay aware, keep walking and stretching. And know that there is an end to this process. Hopefully July we'll be able to enjoy our house in NY without the to-ing and fro-ing. Ahhhh!
