I just took a quick glance at my first blog entry, written and posted 11 years ago tomorrow. Wow... It's kind of funny to think about the 30 pounds, more or less, I've found myself in during this time... and right now I'm kind of in the middle! Of course there is a little part of me that wishes I had just 'figured out' my magic formula and maintained myself at the weight I think I want to be at, but so much happens in 11 years and even with (many) good habits sometimes we gain weight. All we can do is go from where we are now.

My body has changed. My lifestyle has changed. I used to have more time to get to the gym and now I have more injuries and aches that have unique needs for how I use my body. I want to get back to being stronger, or feeling stronger. For whatever reason, I feel my cardiovascular abilities are fine, maybe even better... but my muscles need some work. Push-ups are a favourite exercise of my boyfriend so at the moment we have a 30-day 100 push-up per day challenge. I'm starting with wall push-ups, after the first 10 days (& 1000 push-ups!) I think I will incorporate some floor push-ups too. As we are both feeling the covid bulge, we are trying to sneak as much strength and cardio in as we can, this push-up challenge being the start of it. Last night while his kids watching a movie we snuck off to the basement for weights and some core work for about half an hour. Getting it where we can!
