I use Pandora and I Heart Radio apps. I don't get to choose specific songs that way, but I can find a genre I enjoy and that's close enough for me. I don't like the ads, but since I'm not willing to pay for the premium ad free service I can live with that.

Google Play Music (at least the version on my Samsung phone) works like this for creating a playlist:
if you already have some music on your device and just want to make a playlist:
tap the "hamburger" (the 3 lines stacked up on the left)
    tap "music library"
drag the word banner (starts w/"playlists") - drag it to the left until you see "songs" tap "songs"
you should see a list of songs (if you have music on your phone already)
tap the 3 dots to the right of a song
    tap Add to playlist
then, if you have NO playlists yet, you will tap "New Playlist" (bottom right)
If you DO have playlists (for subsequent songs) you just tap the one you want.
Common names are: Workout, Driving, Relax, you get the idea.

If you don't already have any music on your phone, you have to subscribe to access their songs, which I can walk you thru, OR you can buy individual songs (see Shop after the hamburger step).

And, like I mentioned on the other blog, Amazon Prime, if you're already a member, has some free music. And Spotify is free.

I am 63 and do not understand computers at all! If you have a younger relative that could help it would be easier!

Hi, I just tried to do this on my android phone but stopped, because it is not free. After a month, it costs $9.99 monthly! No, thanks! I save my fave music/songs for free on FB by saving the YouTube videos of songs I love! emoticon I hope this suggestion helps, Chris! emoticon
