It finally happened...I’ve lost fifty pounds. It’s taken me 10 months...but I’m ok with that. I still have about 35 to go, but I’m reveling in the moment. How does 50 feel?
I have more energy.
I can get up out of a chair (or bed, or whatever) without grunting, and without pulling myself up.
I can get out of the car without hanging onto the doorframe and pushing off...again without grunting. Lol
I can climb up/down steps with a hop in my step...such fun!
I no longer hang dry my clothes for fear of shrinkage.
My skinny clothes are getting loose...again! And yes...I will have to go shopping soon.
I signed up for a 5k and when asked what size shirt, I proudly announced XL! No more triple digits for me!
I crave activity! My walks are sacred!
But the best visual? Yesterday my DIL hugged me and her arms went all around my waist! It felt so good, I asked her to do it again!
Not bragging here...well, maybe a little. But really, I just wanted to share these positive things that are keeping me motivated to keep going. After all, the scale only gives a small snapshot of the big picture. And sometimes I get really frustrated when I don’t see progress on the scale. But these small victories? Yeah...that’s what keeps me going.
What are your small victories?
