Home & Peaceful

Friday, September 18, 2020

It was a funny morning. I am usually 2 to 3 minutes early for my hair appt. and this morning I was 5 min. late and she called to make sure I was OK. It's nice to have people worry about you. I even picked up my mail but it was hardly worth the effort.

I have a big pile of masks cut so I just sewed away on those and took turns trimming the quilt blocks and fiddling around on the computer. Found 2 free patterns today I'd like to try. One of them I have no idea how to do but I'll take it to the shop and ask for help. I've never paper pieced anything and would like to learn a little bit about it.

Thank fulls
1. choices for meals in the frig.
2. being able to complain on the computer and not have to do it in person (I don't always do it very well. )
3. medical science where would we be without it?

Tomorrow is another lovely day at home. I have plenty of food and water and even pop and lots of work to do. I have about half of the quilt blocks ready to put together and would love to get that finished. I'm looking forward to having plenty of time to get back to some of my scrap projects.

Sounds like you had a really good day. So relaxing to have your hair done. I am missing that with my TX. beautician. Can't find one I like really well here. I am spoiled with her.
Enjoy your new pattern. I am not familiar with the paper pieces either but then I haven't quilted.

Projects, I still haven't done the new mask pattern I found a couple of weeks ago, but just as soon as I get what being worked on, and the large table runner ready for the batting cut and all sewn, then will try that new pattern. Still with quilting, I have seen so very lovely things on Pinterest then look and it a paper piecing project, so just keep strolling past, since I have absolutely no idea what paper piecing is about.
I made us an interesting meal for dinner. I put some thinner round steak pieces in the slow cooker and added some garlic powder over the meat. Then put slices of green pepper, some mini sweet mini peppers cut in half, took the seeds out of them too. Added some cut up celery and covered it all with a can of petite tomatoes with garlic and something else in the tomatoes, that turned out , we both liked it and we will have left overs from that yet. I was sort of like what my mom use to make when I was a kid minus the tomatoes---think then they called that Swiss steak. Next time I will add onions too, had some but totally forgot to put an onion dice up in it. Of course back then we didn't have the mini peppers either, just the regular sized ones.
I sounds like you had a productive day after getting back from town, good to keep busy.
