National Handbag Day

This is our assignment for the Aspire and Inspire sparkteam: National Handbag Day on October 10th recognizes the versatile and utilitarian bag that goes by many names. Call it what you will – pocketbook, clutch, reticule, purse, evening bag, case, or pouch – they’ve been coming in handy for thousands of years. Do you carry a handbag daily? What does it look like? Do you carry the same one or switch it up? What do you keep in it?
My current handbag is a dark teal leather purse. It is a shoulder bag, which I always get. I carry it with me every time I go out. I rarely switch it up. The only bad thing about it is that it’s heavy, because I like to keep a lot of things in it. I keep my wallet in it, along with Kleenex, reading glasses, a pen, a memo pad, and my cell phone and car keys. I also keep a little pouch in it, containing medicine, a comb, a mirror, a mask, and lip balm. I love my purse!
