Trying my hand at Spanish.

Thursday, October 15, 2020

'Trying' is the key word. I tried last year to study Spanish and did fairly well, with some help of a friend, then I lost interest, as I do with most hobbies.

I'm going to try again, but I have forgotten a lot. Words look familiar but just can't place them. I found a couple sites, Duolingo and another site that has games, I think, if I can stay focused I might get back some of what I learned.

One of my friends here gave me much encouragement, thanks Sally. Or gracias sally.

I do have some Spanish channels that I put on while on computer, plays in background.

I know this doesn't get me off my butt, but keeps my mind busy. At a time like this, I think that is important too.

No, I don't have any plans in using my Spanish, I have two Hispanic friends, but with everything, we can't get together. I just would like to accomplish one thing I've taken an interest in. Living in Florida, Spanish would be the practical choice. I tried last year and feel I did a better stab at it, but seems harder this time around.
Maybe a year older makes a difference. lol

I did try German with a friend a few years ago,but really hard to learn two languages. You just can't say,
'Yo quiero wasser.' ('I want' in Spanish and 'wasser' in German) emoticon

Well done on having another go at learning Spanish. I had to check on Google but my response to you is "de nada" I think. I can't speak Spanish at all and only a limited amount of French. Hangover from when I was in school. I think it is great that you want to do something like this.

I've been doing Duo Lingo trying to learn Spanish. I am not very good but I have learned a lot of words.
Good luck to you in learning a new language. It is a lot of fun and keeps your mind going.
