Almost all of us have heard not to go below 1200 calories or we hit starvation metabolism and our bodies store everything. But why?
The body tries to protect us against famine and muscle loss. As we eat less and less, we have less energy to move and do things. We waste our muscle. Muscle is active tissue that burns calories. Fat is not, as it just sits there as a storehouse. If our muscle goes, our metabolism drops.
Eat well. Build muscle. Add healthy foods to your diet and don’t concentrate on what you can’t eat. Concentrate on what you can.
