Again Spark Friends what are your answers?

Thursday, October 22, 2020

Is it feeling like fall in your area? Yes. We still have sunny days where we sit outside in the afternoon, but the highs are in the 50's F. It's dark in the morning and early sunsets.

Are you doing anything different this month? I seem to be more tired, so I cut back on projects around the house. I finished stocking up on food and misc. so I only have to shop for milk, bread and freggies (got lots of TP). I stopped buying bacon and lunch meats and don't miss it. Starting Week 21 of daily YouTube exercises! I've lost 25 pounds this year and am nearing the 150's. I packed up 50 pounds of clothes to donate, my car trunk if full.

What are you doing for fun? Talk on the phone with family. Playing cards with hubby. Watching Australian Celebrity Survivor (Season 2) 2006.

Are you socializing much? Just family and weekly lunch with TOPS (a little uncomfortable with that). We have little visitors mornings and after school. We sit in the garage or yard depending on weather.

Interesting news in your area? B.C. Provincial Election - Sept 22nd a snap election was called for Oct. 24th. Short and sweet election cycle. I voted by mail and yes I returned my ballot already.

So my Spark Friends what are you answers?

Is it feeling like fall in your area?
Are you doing anything different this month
What are you doing for fun?
Are you socializing much?
Interesting news in your area?

Yes it is feeling like fall here in SW Michigan. In fact, we may get a rain/snow mix tonight. Gotta find the snow shovels.

Am I doing anything different? Not really - continuing with the house organizing and cleaning. Started taking Chantix with a plan to quit smoking on Nov 1.

For fun? Still walking Rascal in the evening with my friend and her dog, but we have to go earlier and sit out for a shorter time. That is about all the socializing I do. Covid cases are way up, so trying to avoid going anywhere and I don’t know what to do about Thanksgiving.

Interesting news? The election will be over soon so all those nasty commercials will stop!

Is it feeling like fall in your area? - Very much so. I live in New Jersey, and the leaves are changing (in some cases have already fallen). Last Sunday we went up to Vermont (about 3.5 hours away) and spent a night in a hotel. The leaves were glorious up there. Today was almost 70 degrees here. Tomorrow will barely hit 50.

Are you doing anything different this month - Other than the trip to Vermont and possibly another day trip to the Hudson Valley next week, not really.

What are you doing for fun? Watching tv, reading, and going leaf peeping. I just got a Hydrow (rowing machine), so I've been having fun with that

Are you socializing much? Not at all. I am working from home, and I am sorry to say that my social circle has gotten very small.

Interesting news in your area? - Covid seems to be on the rise

Is it feeling like fall in your area? No, yesterday it was 70 degrees and only down to 50 at night. But the leaves are starting to fall and it's dark in the morning when I get up.

Are you doing anything different this month? I am not walking as I have done something to my knee and am experiencing pain when I walk. I am trying to do chair exercise, upper body, and PT stretches for knees.

What are you doing for fun? Mostly we are at home doing small jobs around the house, we did order and pick up a new coffee table for our living room. That was fun and we love the new look.
    .
Are you socializing much? We do get together for patio visits with my sister and her husband once or twice a week. But our kids and grandkids are on text and phone calls.

Interesting news in your area? I try to avoid listening to the news, I need to stay away from the negativity surrounding the election.

Feeling like fall in our area in Spain. The almonds were harvested last month and the olives are due next month. We don’t go out much except to the grocery store or hardware store and once in a while to the post office. We are stocked up in case of another lockdown and will only need fresh items every other week.
Interesting in our area: archeological project in the town castle.

Is it feeling like fall in your area? Dropped to the 70s for the first time this year today and was gray and gloomy. I loved it!

Are you doing anything different this month? Not much, same as last month.

What are you doing for fun? I have little time for fun between work and school. I am back at church (that's new) and it's enjoyable seeing people on Sundays. I was doing well protecting my body but not my soul and I just wasn't doing well. I social distance and wear my mask and have slightly increased my bubble.

Are you socializing much? My bubble is my two bosses and coworker, basically. I have expanded it to church but am sitting with the same people each Sunday. My TOPS club has meetings again and we social distance and wear masks and it is wonderful to see everyone again. I have lost about 11-12 lbs. since the start of COVID.

Interesting news in your area? I can't wait for the presidential election to be over with. First Tues. of Nov. can't come fast enough.

I'm freezing, but can see the beautiful huge red, orange, $ gold tree in my yard--so, yes.

I started venturing out occasionally on non-necessities outings, but not often, & I'm very cautious when I do. Feeling restless and bored, but not in a way that Spurs me on to do countless tasks I should get done.

I feel like I'm doing nothing, zip, zero for fun---but see # 1&2 for why, lol

Not much socializing, just immediate family mainly, & my kids in laws a little since we're friends & are socializing with same families, lol

Covid on the rise, our Governor being threatened & almost kidnapped by a band of thugs, & oh, election woes of course--that's our grim news! Dang, I sound negative. Backache, for 2 days, and have not got in as much movement as planned, so not feeling chipper 'bout that!

Is it feeling like fall in your area? Mid 50's which I LOVE LOVE LOVE lows in the 40's. FINALLY Liquid GOLD has fallen to help us out with our severe drought (SO STRANGE for Maine!) Most trees are bare.

Are you doing anything different this month: New car, New Job so on that way yes. Socially I'm keeping my circle TIGHT especially since I am now working in a grocery store though I am extremely well protected. Extremely well. But "just in case" It's only 5.

What are you doing for fun? LOL Driving the new Honda Fit. Hanging around with a friend (one of the 5) who also loves walking. Walking and reading later at night.

Are you socializing much? Just the above, though on ZOOM with the congregation I belong to 2 times a week, plus other times as I have the time. Today, I've been working with the Foster Grandparents Program for the past 2 years. LOL we had a meeting. Hmmm I am likely the youngest there (early 60s) and so the first 15 mins was over 100 people who KEPT ON ASKING "CAN YOU HEAR ME!!!?" OVER and OVER AGAIN!! Funny, so funny, but yet it did turn out to be a very good informative ZOOM meeting. Was NICE seeing many I can't right now. Usually we have In Service meetings with 125 or so there, where we have various speakers, and a very nice meal. I MISS that!! It was always so MUCH SUPER FUN!

Interesting news in your area? Restaurants want to stay open. Winter is almost here, so it's been quite interesting to see how very creative the owners are being. One place I DO WANT to go and eat at once winter is on full bloom!! They are going to make mini ICE IGLOOS to eat in!! COOL HUH?

    1) Absolutely feels like fall where I am - Ontario, Canada
Cool, 50° and either overcast or rainy for the last week. Leaves have finished turning for the most part and ½ of them have fallen.
Tomorrow is a bright spot in the weather, soaring to the low 70s, then by Saturday will plummet back to a seasonal 40s.
    2) Nothing different really since March
    3) spent much of the summer catching up on odd-jobs around the house and yard and have binge watched more TV series than I can count lol.
    4) Other than the odd shopping trip, the only socializing we've done in person is with about a dozen family members, everything else is by phone, text, email, zoom etc.
    5) I live outside of a small town, not much new happening around here.

Great topic for your blog, loved reading everyone's replies

Yes, Fall is really settling in, usually highs in the 50's or lower.
Not doing much different, just sleeping in more days, as it is darker.
What am I doing for fun, well, cuddling up more with the cats. and watching Netflix.
Socializing, What is that?????? No, none here
So tired of this election crap, and locally, the Ash bore has over 350 dead trees in our little town that need taken down. Such a shame, and we have 7 of our own I don't think are going are going to come back next year.

    1. Yes, fall has arrived here in the Okanagan. -0.5C this morning.
    2. Changes - working less on call - cherry picking jobs for less potential exposure to illness.
    3. Fun? Hmmm. Walking with an audiobook.
    4. Socializing. Not much. Limited family (5) and friends (6). More phone calls.
    5. Already voted - in person - no line ups - in and out in less than 5 minutes.

Summer dresses put away; long sleeves, sweaters and gloves on.

I’m trying to tidy outside and will then focus on purging stuff in the basement - years of accumulation. Ugh. I have not stocked up on supplies in any capacity, not even TP. I avoid all stores and might venture in once per week. My needs and wants are few; being single helps. I’m missing a pet for companionship, but am holding out for now. I’m too busy to be dwelling on anything, so I’m content in how my life is going. A clean and less cluttered house would make me happier, but my focus has been on my weight loss and walking. So far, so good! I will never be bored or run out of things to do.

Nothing different happening this month. But, I'm a hermit so that's fine with me which answers the socializing question.

    1. Definitely fall in this area! Had snow flakes in the air last weekend. Just cold and damp this week.

    2. No, nothing different this month. DH has to have spinal surgery on 04 November, so are isolating. Then he has to have thyroid surgery for a malignant nodule. So, isolation sees endless @ the present time.

    3. Watching humorous movies, reading books I've wanted to read, deep cleaning the house are the top activities for the present.

    4. Just socializing via zoom and phone calls or texts or e-mails.

    5. NO real interesting news in our area. I guess that could be considered GOOD!
