Comfortable in Our Own Skin, Part 2
Friday, October 30, 2020
On August 21 I shared the story of the Nova Scotia woman who had bilateral mastectomies and decided against reconstructive surgery. Her story and her determination has spread worldwide since and today I share a sequel to the the story of her journey.
It's been a good week here. I am reaching my goals and looking forward to the second half of the 5% Challenge. Our province continues to be safe with only 4 active cases of COVID, all travel related and none requiring hospitalization. Tomorrow of course is Halloween and folks here are coming up with creative ways to safely celebrate; in my area the choice seems to be a "trunk event" in a parking lot where families can bring their kids and help themselves to treats. Others have devised chutes that they can send candy down into waiting bags or pillowcases and many are just staying home and finding ways to have fun there. I will just quietly tuck in for the evening, I don't wish for my big dog to be rattled with noise and unexpected visitors, she would become an emotional mess.
