When it comes to goal setting, there are a lot of articles about finding your WHY. Having a BIG WHY doesn't always get you to your goal, or even help keep you motivated. It pays to consider the WHY NOT.
The obstacles are more important than the goal. I mean, that must be true, otherwise the obstacles would not stop me from achieving my goals. In fact, when I took a good hard look at my obstacles, I realized that the SAME obstacles were stopping me from achieving not just one of my goals, but all of them!
Once I listed out the obstacles, I put a plan together to address each of them. Then suddenly, I was making progress. Sometimes, the obstacles will still win, and slow me down. But they don't derail me completely, because I have a plan.
