Our family went to the races last week. (Horse racing) . What an amazing time.
I have 3 sisters, scattered far and wide. We rarely see each other, though we are close and chat regularly via phone, emails and Facebook.
Because one sister has been diagnosed with dementia, I asked if we could all meet for a reunion. Just us sisters. And all were in agreement. We all traveled to our old home town for the racing. Best day ever. Despite loosing every single race and getting severe sunburn. It was so good to talk, laugh and hug. Hugging was the best bit. We're so lucky here in New Zealand that we can have that contact. 2 of the sisters haven't spoken for over 20 years , yet they may the effort and talked at length. My only sadness is realizing this is probably the last time we will all be together like this. But who knows. We could make it a yearly get together.
The beginning of great things.
