Old Film movies...

Saturday, January 09, 2021

Many many years now I have been saying to my hubby (Tom) , when we scroll thru movies, "I did not see that one". He would say-, Why not???" I didn't know. These are a lot of the classics from the 30's,40's,50's etc...!!! I may have seen some clips from them, but never had the chance to just sit & watch the whole movie.

Well the world went inside out & we were in lockdown. Time just stood still. Hubby worked from home & I got use to it. He did his thing & I did mine. We got along great....& still do.....

At night we would watch our DVR shows & started to run out. Checked out Netflix & Prime . Tried some new shows, but really didn't like them.... What are we to watch then????

Light bulb went off in my head! POOF......

Went into TCM (Turner classic movies) & started to record (dvr) all those classic's I've been meaning to watch.

Hubby thought it was a great idea so Wednesday & Friday nights became movie night! Tom no longer had to get up at 5:30 to drive to work....He gets up at 7:30 & works from 8 to 7 straight....so could stay up to watch during the week.

We both really enjoyed a lot of movies from the late 30's, & 40's. Since hubby had seen 75% of the movies, he didn't mind watching them over again. Tried musicals, war ones, romance, mysteries etc.. The whole gambit.

Found out I enjoyed Gary Grant movies & have seen 3 so far! Now I understand when I heard people talk about how good he was, I get it!!! Plan on watching all the rest of what he played in.

It was one of the best things I (we) have done in 2020. We watched 60 movies & plan on keeping it going (only on Friday nights though) in 2021! Have much more to get through.

I was so proud of myself for coming up with this bucket list idea that always been meaning to get around to actually doing!

Side note, I did go to the movies with my BFF all during the 80's, 90's etc... so saw most of them, along with watching the recent stuff with Tom. It's just all those classics that I seem to have missed!

Well, not missing them anymore!!!!
