While running errands I made a quick run in to our small “health store” in search of Brazil nuts … they provide selenium which my thyroid enjoys. They didn’t have my nuts.
As I was leaving, I saw a lady I knew from days gone by. Even with masks on … we recognized each other. I was about to say out loud … hey, lady. Panic flashed over her face and she tucked and walked off in the opposite direction. Awww … nuts.
The store is small … so we made eye contact on a different aisle. She again … tucked and rolled. Wouldn’t you know it … we reached the door to leave within seconds apart of each other. I let her leave first. She reached her car and then looked over at me. I nodded. She nodded back. We left … words unspoken.
You see … I met her when she was losing tons and tons of weight basically over night doing the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) Diet. She consumed 500 calories a day and got weekly injections of HCG from pregnant women’s urine. At the time I had warned her … lovingly … this was nuts. Her other “friends” thought it was amazing coz it was working. I had warned that us fluffy ladies need to support one another and realize losing weight was alllll about changing our behaviors. And what we do to lose weight … we will have to continue to do with modifications … to keep off the pounds. Well … I was kicked out of the circle of friends.
She has gained allllll the weight back plus … lots and lots. Coz we didn’t talk … I didn’t get to tell her I understand. See she only knows me fluffy. She never saw me 100+ thinner. And now I’m back up to the size she has always known me at.
Awww … nuts.
More exerts from Steve #93:
Fat people give up on themselves.
Fit people never say die.
Most fat people have attempted to get fit, but either succeeded and gained the weight back or failed and gave up. If failing to get fit was just about physical health, it would be harmful enough, but the mental, emotional and spiritual effects make it too high a price to pay.
Fit people expect to pay a price for success. They know nothing good comes easily, and they commit to doing whatever it takes with their eyes wide open.
Fit people don’t quit. They set a goal and persist until its accomplished.
While the masses see a goal as a “wish”, the great ones see it as a “must do”.
Quitting is a habit, and so is iron-willed persistence.
Critical Thinking Question: Have you finally come to the realization that getting fit is a war that must be won??? Do you really believe failure is an option???
Action Step: Decide you will do whatever it takes to get fit and that you will never say die. This isn’t a game. If you fail, you will continue to get fatter and sicker, and you will eventually die fat. The only think separating you from a life of disease and a life of abundant health is a rock solid decision. Make it today and watch your energy soar!!!
I’m not a quitter. But … I quit following my path to healthy???
Just do it … already. No matter what.
*******
Change your mind … and the rest WILL follow.
