I'm getting more consistent walking the dogs. I aim for at least twice a week - I just can't do more because these are BIG dogs and they pull on my back....mostly because I'm not the pack leader.
I don't feel too badly about it, though. My son IS a dog whisperer and the Husky even pulls on him! She just wants to run, which is her DNA. Luckily, she is older and by the time we get half-way around the park, she's not pulling on me so much.
The Presa Canario is another story, even though he's small for his breed by about sixty pounds - his daddy was about 176 but since his mother was only 103 lbs., that is why Bane is small for his breed.. Ours is a Red Brindle.
However, the thing about him is he is 115% muscle! LOL He's really a very gentle dog and if you look up the breed, you'll probably think he is a Pit, but he's not. Presas have very gentle disposition and it's not in their DNA to kill, but at the same time, I've seen mine take down an adult Pit when attacked and got the better of him.
Anyway, the point is I have managed to lose eight pounds just during December, and I am including the stationary bike when the weather won't let me walk the pups and I found an eleven minute chair cardio video from SP, so with the three, I am making SOME headway. There's also all the housework I do and even though I have to rest after twenty minutes, still, it adds up.
Slowly but surely, eh?
