2021 Cycling Goal
Monday, January 18, 2021
2020 just SUCKED! All but one of my rides were cancelled (thank you, Cache Gran Fondo!) and my cycling besties ended up out of commission - one with cancer and one recovering from a knee replacement. Cycling is my sanity, but I still have a difficult time finding the motivation to do it alone. I feel very vulnerable on the roads and the greenway trails get boring. I totaled up my 2020 cycling miles the other day and found that even with all the 'Rona shutdowns and bad luck, I cycled over 1700 miles last year - the equivalent of a trip to Memphis from my house in SoCal! THAT helped me find some much needed motivation to get back on the road. I set a goal to cycle 2021 miles this year. I would also like to complete my first century ride. I've done lots of half centuries, and I've even made it close to finishing a metric century. I would love to bust out a 100-mile ride in one go, so...I registered for the long course on my favorite summer ride. Training starts now!
