January 19, 2021 STOP COMPLAINING
People who grumble or complain a lot attract others who enjoy doing the same. That is how gossip gets spread. That is how negativity creeps in. That is how our attitudes can change quickly. It is very hard to take positive action when we choose to listen to those who grumble or complain. It is even harder when we are the ones doing the grumbling. If we want to get anything done, we need to steer away from those thoughts of negativity and stay away from those who grumble and complain.
The Bible tells us to do everything without complaining or arguing. We are to live lives full of gratitude and trust in God. When we choose to complain or argue, we are looking at situations through the world’s eyes rather than responding as Jesus would. Taking action to stay away from those who constantly complain and ensuring that we don’t complain or argue will help us to get more things done because our focus will be off of the negative and more on the positive. When we put our focus on God, He can help us live without complaining or arguing.
Philippians 2:14-15 “Do everything without complaining and arguing, so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.” (NLT)
1. Write how you stay away from complaining.
2. List what you do not to argue with others.
3. Know God wants you to live clean and innocent live.
4. Remember you can get more done with honey than vinegar.
Dear Lord, we pray You will remind us each day not to criticize, condemn or complain. We sometimes get wrapped up in the world and speak wrongly about others. Remind us to live clean and innocent lives so others can see Jesus in our words and actions. Help us to get things done according to Your will and stay away from negative talk and attitudes. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Romans 14:10 “So why do you condemn another believer? Why do you look down on another believer? Remember, we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.” (NLT)
Proverbs 17:22 “A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.” (NLT)
Galatians 5:15 “But if you are always biting and devouring one another, watch out! Beware of destroying one another.” (NLT)
Philippians 4:8 “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” (NLT)
James 5:9 “Don’t grumble about each other, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. For look—the Judge is standing at the door!” (NLT)
