Today I tried to fool myself

I weigh myself weekly to track my progress. Yesterday was weigh-in day and I was happy to see a 1.5 lb loss, but I'll be honest, I was hoping for more!
I worked hard yesterday and followed my plan and got up this morning and thought, 'I'll just see if the scale was mistaken yesterday.' Pulled out the scale and stepped on it and wow...3 lbs down! I did a little celebration dance. That's more like it! Woo-hoo!
Hopped in the shower and thought about it. Got out of the shower and dried off and told myself, 'you didn't pull the scale out as far as you usually do and might not have pulled it all the way away from the cabinet. Better try again.' Pulled it free of the supporting wall of the cabinet and weighed myself. Sigh. Yep, same as yesterday.
For some reason, if my scale is touching a wall or other support structure on its side, it weighs me less. I can sure fool myself by doing that.
I enjoyed my little celebration when I thought I had lost double the weight, but it's good to get back to reality.
