January 22, 2021 DON’T LET THE PASSION FADE AWAY
We can easily tell the passions of those who speak out and take action. They talk about what cause they believe in and they do something to help. However, there are those we don’t really know what they are passionate about. They keep to themselves and there is nothing wrong with that because they could be working behind the scenes without tooting their own horn and that is great. But the majority of people have a passion for a cause hidden deep inside of them that needs to get out before it fades away.
Most people are okay with being average and doing just regular things. They want to blend in with the crowd and not be bothered. It is easy to stay where we are comfortable, to make excuses and to do nothing. However, we were not created to sit back and watch the world on the Internet, on television or on our phones. We were created to do something.
We all have something we are passionate about. We have a cause we may support monetarily. We may have a cause we are thinking about supporting “one day.” The time is now to get up and get out so our light will shine doing good for others. God wants us to stay busy doing the work He created us to do and be the light in this world of darkness. He wants us to lead others to Him and give Him the glory.
Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” (NLT)
1. Write what you are passionate about.
2. List ways you can get involved today.
3. Know God wants your light to shine in this world.
4. Stop watching the world go by and let your good deeds shine for all to see.
Dear Lord, we don’t want to sit back and do nothing. We want to do Your will. You have a purpose and a plan for our lives. You want us to get out and work to help others and let our lights shine for You. Show us, today, where we can do more than simply watch the world go by. Show us how to shine our lights so that others may come to know You and we can all praise You for who You are and what You do. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
