Motivational March

Thursday, March 04, 2021

Being great tomorrow starts with where you are today.

Momentum and inertia are both important in moving forward. As you keep "winding yourself up" you build a good deal of momentum, and once you get going, it's easier to keep going - inertia.

"I believe that the willingness to start is the littlest thing in life that makes the biggest difference." ~ James Clear

Of course, getting started no matter where you are in the overall scheme of things,
is the most important choice you can make in any one moment - anytime. Sometimes it's a risk, and sometimes it's not. If you are contemplating starting a business, it's a huge risk to you and your family. On the other hand, If you are feeling less than good about yourself and your progress toward your goals it's not. In both scenarios, the common factor and ultimate decision is just one tiny choice.

This courage of choosing to start is even more important than whether or not you succeed because it's the only way you can even consider making progress or finishing. When you spend energy thinking about how much time you’ve already wasted and how far along you think you should be by now, it will seem even more impossible to catch up. It can be daunting at times, and even looking ahead at how far you have to go might be the same.

Yesterday's blog began with a quote about time. All time is measured in the moment. There is no way to go back and regain time wasted, and conversely, there is no way to accumulate and save time from the future. Each moment in this life lies ready for you, as perfect and unspoiled - as if you had never wasted or misapplied a single moment whatsoever in all your life. Take a moment to think about that . . . In essence, your life begins again in each moment from the point of perfection. How mind-blowing and great is that?!

No matter what you're thinking about doing, start by making the easiest, and tiniest decision you can. That would be to START. Then, move forward with that decision to the next easiest and tiniest decision and action.

As you do this, you will not only be making progress, but you will be building up your confidence, and experiencing success in real time. Pretty soon you'll just keep going without having to think about it.

Take some steps today that will prime your success tomorrow.

Being happy and fulfilled in your life requires you to be actively engaged, and to do that, you have to make the choice to start - either for the first time or to start over again. Either way you win!

Thanks for stopping by!
