Half Way Done!

Friday, November 16, 2007

Today was Day 16 and I was able to do my MTC workout at the gym for the first time!! My in laws bought me a 3 month gym membership as an early Christmas present. What a great present! It was so much easier to do the workout without having to substitute different exercises because I didn't have all the equipment. That's not to say the gym doesn't have its cons though. I was super self conscious to be doing all these crazy exercises in front of other people, especially things like rock Star Jumps and Frog Kicks, but luckily it wasn't too busy being a Friday afternoon. I did most of the exercises in the women's only part of the gym and only went out into the coed part for cardio and the exercises I needed the weight machines for. It was also slowed down a bit finding all the different machines I needed and waiting for them to be available.

I was intimidated lifting weights out with other people who were obviously quite serious about body building. There was one guy huffing and puffing and grunting beside me who was lifting the entire stack while doing lat pull downs. He was a little into himself and was talking on his cell phone a lot. Sometimes I think people like that just go to the gym to get attention.

I'm glad that I'm half way through the program and already planning on when I'll do it again, this time at the gym from the very start. I'm going on my second day of not weighing myself which is something I haven't done in years. I was getting way too discouraged and frustrated so I'm going to wait a couple days. It actually felt quite liberating to get up this morning and bypass the scale and go directly to the kitchen for breakfast. I'm going to work my hardest these next couple weeks and hopefully it will pay off!
