Back at it again. Pilates anyone?

Wednesday, December 05, 2007

Okay. I am writing this looking and thinking " can this weight loss take any longer?". For the past five days my motavation has gone down and I need to seriously get it back. I am still losing weight but it is a slow process. I need to revamp it. Last night I attended a pilates class, and during the class I thought I would die. Bones were cracking and popping that I never knew I had. After the class I felt really good. I am trying to intertwine more flexibility training in my workouts. I am going to a yoga class this saturday so we will see how that plays out. Also I wanted to if anyone knows does pilates actually work for your core section and what are good strength training workouts?

I've been taking Pilates for a year now and I really have strengthened my core, as well as my thighs. The first time I tried the hundred and roll-ups I thought I would die the next dead. The only thing that kept me going those first few weeks was that I had signed up for the class along with a friend. Now I'm addicted! I've moved up to advanced/level 3 positions for most of the exercises which is true evidence that I'm getting stronger.

I can't say enough about what it has done for my flexibility too.

Go to Prevention.com, and you'll learn about the best strength training work outs. Right now they are saying the bands are the best. I bought the bands with a workout DVD, used it, love it, but I still use my weights. You're building muscle, muscle weighs more than fat, and you want that, less sagging when you get to that goal. SO stay encouraged!

Slow is the best way so that you maintain your weight loss. I know what it's like to feel that it's not coming off quickly enough, I can't tell the difference - is all this hard work actually working????? But then comes along that person that had no idea you're dieting and ask that question or makes that comment "you look like you're losing weight or there's something different about you"!! Boy what a pick me up and then you have to be careful you don't become so picked up that you slack off! I've been that person too.

Just hang in there and don't give up. Slow and steady wins the race! You're in a rush because she see what a diva you'll be at that goal weight! LOL I aint' made atcha!!!
