Are You a Transportation Worker

Tuesday, January 15, 2008

Now, lets' be real for once! How many of you are transportation workers? Those of us who are, know it is a profession to be reckoned with, whether it is public, school, or ADA, you will have to have a close relationship with the LORD!

As I travel daily driving mass transit through the streets of this city, I am often provoked or nearly provoked to think about committing crimes. I think mass transit is a little more trying than any other transportation job...why? I am glad you asked! Well, first of all, you are dealing with people from all walks of life.... sober, drunk, weapons, stink, dirty, loud and the list does travel farther. BUT the one obstacle I don't have to deal with is allowing this behavior from anyone..Now, when I drove the school bus to qualify to get my CDL, I had to deal with kids who could not be put off the bus as their parents could on mass transit! So you know I had to leave that, because they had to much control. I love the option to put feet to the street when needed! Just being real and blessed! LOL

I get in trouble while driving transit because I forget to eat, which is bad for diabetics! I carry small packs of crackers, which helps keep my weight down, and when I get off from work...I don't overeat...never understood would think I would eat like a cow! Do you have any quickies prepared in the food area...if so, what?

So, if you are any type of transportation worker, state your views on your day and your eating habits, and how big you are getting sitting all day! LOL

First, grateful appreciation for the many ways you minister to me, especially in your posts in Survivors team and on your page.

"An apple a day keeps the doctor away." That saying is one that works for me - I keep an apple out at home, ready to grab when I am feeling the need for something fast.

For traveling away from home, sometimes I pack an apple or banana but the newest thing for me is the Chiquita brand bag of individual packages of red seedless grapes: travels well, 60 calories, satisfying.

Sometimes I drink veggies: individual cans of low-sodium V8 juice.

You know, Custom, Thanks. I was losing real good until I started driving. Now I'm Maintaining. Not gaining, not losing. Maybe I should ask too. I can't double up on exercise , barely have time for what I do.
