Life Without a Microwave

Thursday, January 24, 2008

Oh, what a spoiled, spoiled person I am. My microwave, a long-time companion, recently said 'SPARK, SPARK, CRACKLE, POOF!' and gave up the ghost. It was a mere week prior to payday, so I thought that I would hold off on the purchase of a new one until then. Little did I know how deeply my dependency ran!

No longer could I just pop a cup of water into the micro for a warming drink of tea; heating leftovers involved getting an extra pan and spoon dirty; and don't get me started on cooking frozen corn on top of the stove!

Yesterday I broke down and got a new micro. This one is a smaller, less powerful version of the other, but we have already formed a bond. Life is much easier with a microwave. How did I survive in the 70's without one?

my condolences on the death of your longtime companion. You know trading up to a newer, smaller version is the trend. Are you really a middle aged man? lol. modern conveinances will be the end of this world, my puter was struck by lightening a couple of months ago. Life was over as I knew it. Got a loaner from a friend the next day but it was the most scary time in my existance!!!!!!
