Social distancing is work but the best thing you can do is smile and wave. Even if you cannot have a real conversation, at least you can be polite and positive. The world has changed but we can change with it. A simple smile and a wave may make someone's day. 30 213 247... Read more

  • Trying Thursday

    3/26/2020 7:48:10 AM, by MSLZZY

Trying but not as in attempting but trying our patience. More and more stores and businesses are closing and in a very small town, that is concerning. Everything seems to have ground to a halt. We have gotten connections to church services so we can worship with You Tube and since we have ... Read more

  • Educate yourself

    3/25/2020 7:54:40 AM, by MSLZZY

There is so much information and misinformation on the news and the internet. We need to educate ourselves to stay safe. We also need to make sure the information we share is correct. Our governor has ordered all schools closed until May 1st. Our teachers are going the best they can with dis... Read more

  • Social distancing and common sense

    3/24/2020 7:24:00 AM, by MSLZZY

When you live in a small town and work in a small office, and when you are the only person in that office, social distancing is pretty easy. Few people come in the door as they have busy lives. Service work presents itself with a phone call, a text message or a voice mail. Seems a bit impe... Read more

  • The new normal is so strange

    3/23/2020 7:37:00 AM, by MSLZZY

So far, we have been fortunate not to have any cases of COVID19 in our immediate area. We are practicing social distancing with no school, no church and no other activities. We do have a small coffee group that basically says hi and goodbye in passing. None of us have really traveled for any... Read more

  • A case of the fidgets

    3/20/2020 7:38:41 AM, by MSLZZY

Everyone is getting fidgety since we are practicing social distancing, self isolation and all the changes in the world. And people are getting short tempered as well. At the convenience store, they are no longer selling fresh doughnuts in the display case. Customers would reach in and choose... Read more

  • Shall we have rain, snow or both?

    3/19/2020 7:37:51 AM, by MSLZZY

A wet storm system is moving in and we are to have rain turning to snow and maybe back to rain. It won't matter as whatever precipitation falls, it will only add to the excess water we have and promote more flooding. One of our bus drivers will have to travel 30 extra miles out and back ever... • Almost like a ghost town

    3/18/2020 7:43:58 AM, by MSLZZY

I had an appointment to see the eye doctor yesterday. The office had called on Monday to remind me of my appointment and even had several cancellations in case I wanted to come earlier. I kept the time as I know how easy it is to get busy and then be late. Glad I did as I was running 2 mi... Read more

  • Motivated to stay well

    3/16/2020 7:25:51 AM, by MSLZZY

A new week and a lot of uncertainty ahead. We are avoiding crowds to lessen the chance of getting ill. Even in a small town, everyone seems to be taking precautions. Some people seem to be over vigilant and others are very blasé. We will try to be safe. Yesterday we made sauerkraut as our su... Read more

  • What's in the future Friday?

    3/13/2020 7:56:21 AM, by MSLZZY

The world has certainly changed since the beginning of the New Year and it looks strange and forbidding. Out of concern for personal safety, many large venues are closing their doors to spectators, public audiences and crowds in general. Live shows will be taped with no audience or not ta... Read more

  • Ever watchful and staying safe

    3/11/2020 7:42:17 AM, by MSLZZY

We have reports of 5 people with the coronavirus in our state and one man may have died from the virus. We are calling this "presumptive" since not all of the test results are back. All of these individuals had traveled recently but the man who died also had a compromised health history. A... Read more

  • A windy March Monday

    3/9/2020 7:29:42 AM, by MSLZZY

The weekend was very pleasant and windy but it really encouraged what snow was left to melt and the soil left uncovered to dry. Our neighbor used his skid loader to level the ground where the blue spruce tree was removed. It fell down last summer when the saturated soil could no longer sus... Read more

  • And now it is Friday

    3/6/2020 7:38:34 AM, by MSLZZY

The week went quickly. MIL's surgery went well as they used a spinal block with anesthesia and she was more responsive after surgery than the last time. Surgery was less than an hour which also was a plus. She will be able to travel home with DH and her daughter tomorrow. I am enjoying ... Read more

  • More commitments

    3/4/2020 7:33:12 AM, by MSLZZY

The weather is nicer and that opens the door to making more commitments because we can travel easier, the days are longer and we feel like getting out. We can still have bouts of cabin fever but it is less likely. Hubby is taking his mother to the hospital today for her hip surgery tomorro... Read more

  • The geese are flying north to visit LEANJEAN6

    3/3/2020 7:52:47 AM, by MSLZZY

They may be moving a bit earlier than usual but the geese are flying north to visit LEANJEAN6 for the upcoming months. The migration starts slowly as we hear faint honking sounds later in the evening, just above us in the cloud cover in the early mornings. But now we see the large v shaped f... Read more

  • Now that it is March

    3/2/2020 7:45:15 AM, by MSLZZY

I need to march forward and get back in step with the side of me that likes to clean and organize. I will still work on the basement as I sort through the canned goods and toss what is old, expired and no longer safe to eat. The jars will be emptied, washed and boxed to be reused this summer...
