when we did not have internet and cell phones. I remember when MTV made it debut. I remember the first time I saw internet and it was not what we have today. It was basically that you could talk to someone on a computer in the same room in the computer lab at college.

I remember flip flops as being called "Zori's", when they first came from Japan, we loved the rubber shoes, lol, and parents liked that we could get them wet and it was ok, they were in a plastic bag and cost 88 cents.

When my parents had to rent a freezer locker at the butcher shop, and they gave you a key to go in and pick out whatever you had in there for dinner that night. We walked to the little downtown, father had the only car and was working. Most everyone did that, woman stayed home and cooked in those days.

Lol, I love the cushion method!
I remember when "permanent press" and drip dry clothing being advertised. When I was a kid very few people had dryers. When a I was very young they didn't even all have washers.
My grandmother did her sheets on a scrub board with brown soap, wrung them out by hand, then hung them out to dry. Laundry smelled so good!

Yes, I still have my mother's "sprinkle bottle". Ironing day was a big deal, took a lot of time. My mother folded some things and placed them under a seat cushion, so it got "ironed" by the person sitting on the chair.

Speaking of ironing...remember before steam and spray irons, women would sprinkle water onto their ironing from a soda pop bottle that had a sprinkle cap on it? And sometimes they'd put the clothing into the fridge or ice box before they ironed it?
