Hi Tammy,

Welcome Back!
Just taking small step can lead to big changes. Maybe start with 5 minutes of exercise a day and work your way up. There are Spark videos that may be helpful. Track everything you eat in the Nutrition Tracker. Once you start seeing results that will spur you on.
You can do this! One day/ one step at a time!

Ya gotta' start someplace, so start right where you are. Use both the nutrition and fitness trackers religiously. That should be your first goal. Use them every day without fail. Next, start checking out the articles under the "Learn" tab above. Start with "Fitness". Do one hundred steps around the house or work up to that, then add a step or two every day. By the time you get up to three hundred or more steps, it will be warm enough to move outside and just keep increasing your distance a little each day. You'll find Leslie Sansone videos on YouTube and many other types of easy exercises there as well to help you gradually work up to a full workout routine. The biggest hurdle is to overcome being stuck and start doing with no excuses. Do something every day to improve your health and stick with it. Never quit! Welcome back and best wishes for success this time.

Hi everyone,
I have been on and off SparkPeople for years now. I have been wanting to lose weight for years now, not knowing really how to start. A few times I may have lost 2 to 3 pounds every now and then. But not a good weight loss. I am now dedicating myself to lose weight.

Recently in the past 2 to 3 weeks, I have been watching My 600 pound life and many other people that are 500 - 800 pounds on you tube and tv. Granted I am not that heavy, I weighed myself this morning and I was 331.5 pounds not as heavy as the people I have been watching on you tube and tv. I actually can relate to the stories I have seen, I am not home bound or bed ridden which most of the people were that I have been watching. My self esteem, self confidence have suffered a lot since I am 331 pounds. I want to walk and exercise, this time of year it is freezing cold. I have exercise dvds but I just can’t get up the nerve to stick them in the DVD player. I am going on 46 years old the end of February and I hate to have another year being morbidly obese.

I know it is 80% what you eat and 20% you moving (exercise). I am a female and I don’t think I have ever had e romantic partner in my life. I just can’t remember anything about my teen years or young adult life. I have had a crush on someone a few times but I really don’t think anyone would be interested in me as I am morbidly obese. This really destructs my self esteem and self confidence.

I need to lose weight for my sanity and my health. I have hardly any friends and don’t talk to my family because I am too ashamed of myself. I also would like an accountability partner, someone who I can turn to for advice or just to feel good about my accomplishments.

How can I get motivated to get started my weight loss journey?
Thank you for reading my post.

My name is Tammy and I need help.
