Mistakes are the portals of discovery.
Don't be afraid to give your best at what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.
It is never too late to be what you might have been.
Just to introduce myself, I am a 46 year old mother of 2 who has been happily married for 14 years (this August). In 2005 I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer in which I had my Thyroid removed went through radiation and was cancer free. In 2012 I had weight loss surgery and lost 130 pounds. Due to my Thyroid doctor adjusting my thyroid medication, I packed on about 25 pounds. Once he regulated my levels again, I did not gain anymore weight, but plateaued where I was. In April of 2018 I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, in which I went through a Mastectomy in June of 2018. Fortunately for me I did not have to do any chemo/radiation. However over a year later I am still dealing with reconstructions as I have had a few issues along the way..... With all that said I am truly excited to have found SparkPeople and to get moving with losing these 25-30 pounds that I need to lost.
Some of my challenges are going to be the types of foods I eat. Though I don't eat really unhealthy, For the most part, I do not eat Veggies (though I am trying to change that). I eat very little fruit (Grapes, Apples, Clementine's, and Watermellon). I do eat a lot of lean meats (not fried unless done in my air fryer). But my biggest issue is that I am a carbohydrates junkie and I love Ice Cream (though due to the weight loss surgery can only eat it in small amounts).
Jeez that was a lot... (Sorry).. With all that being said, I am excited that I found SparkPeople and look forward to being part of the community and getting the support I need to help me meet my goals....
