Hello and welcome! Totally understand the hubby/different food struggle! Mine tries, but he has such unhealthy ways! We, too, are retired, but really need to stay healthy as we want to spend time with grands! I have been an SP member for almost 9 yrs. and have lost 70 lbs. You take care of you, he may follow suit! Good luck!

Use the tools here to keep you on track. The Nutrition and Fitness trackers are great for that. Be active here too. Read articles and blogs, and join Spark Teams. Members are great for support and motivation. Take it one day at a time.
You can do it!

I know it will be harder since my husband is not interested in improving his diet. Thank you for sharing your story. It was encouraging to hear about your wonderful success and helps me know that I can be successful too.

I am new to Spark People and new to Message Boards. I am 60 years old and work long hours. I need to lose 40-50 pounds. I try to eat healthy and watch portion size. I cook meals my husband likes and often fix something separate for myself that is healthier. I do great during the day, but I have a bad habit of rewarding myself at night with unhealthy snacks my husband buys. I want to lose the weight to avoid going on medications and take stress off my knees so I can continue to hike.
