Hi Suzy! I am sorry to hear that your surgery did not work the way you intended. Maybe there is something to gain from this. I see that you have had this thought already and have a great attitude. Taking it one day at a time, eating the healthiest you can, and adding in exercise when you can is a great way to lose the pounds.
My prayers and thoughts are with you as you await the test results. If you need someone to talk to, please send me a message. I will gladly be the buddy you need.
Many of us have lost a hundred pounds and you can too. Use the nutrition tracker and be very exact in weighing or measuring all the food that passes your lips for now. Later, as you recover, add exercise. Best wishes for your recovery and welcome to SparkPeople!

Hi. My name is Suzy and this last week I had weight loss surgery to lose 100lbs but oh let’s stop there. I woke up in the operating room and the surgeon told me he couldn’t go thru with it because my liver had cirrhosis. I don’t drink but I have a genetic disease that causes iron overload called Hemacromotosis. They took a liver biopsy and I’m waiting on the test results. I decided since I didn’t get the full surgery and have the incisions right now, I’m going to do this the old fashioned way. Since being home I’ve stuck to eating well and drinking lots of water. It’s only been four days but it’s a start. I’m excited to follow your journeys and get healthy. I have a Why and that Why is ME!
