Thanks for posting this - I actually had a bag from the affected growing area so I took it back and exchanged it for some non- romaine

"The reason “California seems to have a huge problem with this” is because of the sheer amount of lettuce grown in and around the Central Valley.
Add not allowing/providing toilet facilities for agricultural workers, especially pickers, field runoff and the need to conserve water, and you are looking at a problem just waiting to explode."

I was upset when e.coli and salmonella were found in cantaloupe.

I'm a big fan of romaine. but if there isn't any available, there are plenty of other greens like baby spinach, kale, collards, beet greens, etc. In the summer, I love a salad made with beet greens.

Lettuce recalls always make me sad. I love Romainel None in my fridge this time.

Be safe, all.

How long until we see major recalls of legal weed? Here in Colorado, we have mold recalls.

It's not just romaine folks ! there is a pork recall too.

A cousin of mine sent an email to family last night saying she had to throw out a beautiful salad made with romaine because the package said it was grown in Salinas, CA.

Yeah, not 100% of romaine is affected, just the stuff from Salinas, CA. I am glad they have the source fast; in the previous recalls, it took awhile for them to get to the source. California seems to have a huge problem with this.

With the past recalls, the theater I worked at had to revamp their salads to get rid of the romaine. Since this recall, it hasn't even been mentioned, so that tells me we aren't currently getting our mixed lettuce, which includes Romaine, from California.

Thanks! I'm beginning to wonder how these romaine producers are staying in business?
