First, plateaus are normal. The first few pounds you lose tend to be water weight, and more easily shed than fat. Also, depending on how much you exercise, you might find that your waistline is shrinking despite the lack of weight loss because your fat is being replaced by muscle and muscle is denser than fat.

Second, you might want to investigate the concept of Health at Every Size. www.haescommunity.org/ The idea is that you don't focus on weight, but rather on numbers that are more indicative of health, like blood pressure, resting pulse, blood sugar, and cholesterol levels. Hope this helps.

i found this site in March. I quit smoking (i have been a smoker since a teenager) and i gained 30 lbs. I used chantex (it really works) but it caused cardiac disrhtymias. So after discovering this site, i started tracking what i eat and recording my exercise. so far i have only lost 5 lbs in 2 months. i am starting to get discouraged. i found the blogs and started reading them. Very encouraging. i just cant figure out why im not loosing the weight. i know, keep at it.
