Hi everyone im 28 and need to loose alot of weight i need advice that works i attend a gym 3 times a week so far been going for a month and havent lost any weight ... dont eat a whole lot so i dont know what i am doing wrong ... i am open for any suggestions that might help thanks alot ... a newbie here also ... first time using this website

Hello everyone, my name is Britt and I'm a 23 year old mom and wife with PCOS. I have gained near 200 pounds in 3 years before the doctor's would finally diagnose me.
Having PCOS makes it very hard to lose weight so this is going to be quite the haul for me.
I was a fire fighter pre-momhood so I always took pride in being at a healthy weight, that is my goal once again.

Hi everyone.My name is Letha (altho I tend to go by rayne much more then anything else) and I am brand new here. This is my first time trying to loose weight in a healthy manner.
Ive always been a bigger girl,but healthy,until recently.I was diagnosed with high cholesterol and given 3 months to get it under control with diet or else I get placed on more medication.Which is something I truely do not want.Since I dont have any family (beyond my husband and kids ~ all of whom are being very supportive ) Im hoping to find a little more support from people here who are going through the same things I am. Hey guys,
Im 26 and I have 150lbs to get to my goal of 200lbs. when I attain that then I will set a new goal to tone and get the body I worked for. I have two little girls 3 and 1. I also have a little boy on the way. my wife is due in sept.
If anyone has ideas or suggestions on how to make time for working out etc. that would be welcome. I work full time and I am a full time student. time is hard to come by lol.

Hi. My name is Alicia. I've lost weight with SP before, but stopped and gained it all back plus more. I've got two small boys and I'd love to have the energy to run around with them.

I'm starting at 265. My first goal is 200, but I'd like to eventually get down to 125 (in the middle of my healthy BMI level).

I've never joined one of these teams before, but my husband told me I should for motivation. Hopefully I'll fit in. :)

Hey, I'm Nicole! I am a 26 year old Seattle Washington college student and Residential Counselor. I have been with SP for a few years now, but took some time off and derailed after a knee injury. I am happy to say that I am back! And I actually have a new injury (I detached my calf muscle playing rugby), but I sure as hell won't be letting it take me down again. I have been back since the start of April, I believe, and I am down 9 lbs. I have 117 lbs to lose before my 1st ideal weight goal is met: under 200 lbs (195 lbs).

Hi everyone! I'm new to the team as well. I joined SP today with some lofty yet necessary goals to live a more healthy lifestyle. I'm 23 and a graduate student currently residing in Nebraska. I grew in Mississippi, where no one I knew regularly worked out or walked places. I've realized that my weight is not only keeping me back from living how I want to, but also I see it as a possible obstacle for the field I want to pursue after graduation. I'm also getting married in November 2011. I want a dress that's not stuck in the 1980s or has to be long-sleeved. With all the reasons building up for me to do something about this weight, it's about time I get to working on it! emoticon

Hi there. I'm Mel, and I feel like life is starting today. In the past month I've moved to a new city in a new state and started a new job. I'm still looking for a new place to live, and I figured I might as well throw in being a new, much smaller me. I've been obese...always.

I hit 100 pounds when I was 8. In high school I noted being 282 and swearing that was as big as I would ever be. Then I stopped paying attention because I didn't want to know that my weight started with a '3' which it probably did for a few years.

I don't have a scale at the moment, but I've been hovering in the 295 area for a while now. If I don't keep on top of it, the scale will tip in a bad direction soon, thanks to my emotional overeating and the stress of this whole new world.

Here's hoping this site will help me out. Fingers crossed.

I'm not 20 something lol. I'm 19, but I decided I would round up my age to 20 when I found this group :]

I've been overweight pretty much my entire life, but I think I gained most of my weight after I got into high school. I wasn't able to walk home from school anymore, and on top of that, we weren't required to take P.E.
One day my parents got a new scale(our old scale had been lying to me for years; it said I was 20 lbs. lighter than I actually was lol!). When I saw my weight, 245 lbs., I was like O_O.

Even though I was shocked, I never did anything about my weight and stayed at 245. I was living in Alabama, and a lot of the people there are bigger, so it almost seemed normal for me to be overweight. Then I moved to Colorado in August of 2009, and it was tooootally different. I look around and it's like,"Oh my god, I feel like the only fat person in the entire state."
Everyone here is so healthy, and there's tons of nature trails and mountains to hike. I want to be able to do these things without having a near death experience lol.

Wow, that turned out way longer than I had planned haha!

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie to the team. I started with SP a little while ago but didn't really get serious about my weight loss till about 2 months ago. My actual starting weight was 275lbs and I had lost some of that, but lately realized I had basically crept up close to that weight again. So for the past 2 months I have lost 20lbs and have decided that it was time to branch out on the website and join a team for extra motivation. It helps to see others going through the same struggles I am and watching them succeed will help me in the long run as well. It gives me hope. I've been big all my life so I want this change badly. Hi! This is my first post here. I am 29, have 2 kids, and have been overweight most of my life. My weight never seemed to affect me as far as energy and doing things until the last couple years. I want to lose approx 150 lbs. I am currently 305. There are so many things I want to do that I just can't because of my weight. I have lost weight in the past and I always end up gaining it back plus another 10 lbs. This site has a lot of useful information and motivation, so I am excited to be here.

I really need to find some good workout dvds for beginners. A gym membership is just not in my budget, plus I have no one to watch my kids, so whatever I do needs to be something I can do while my youngest child naps and the older one is at school. Any suggestions? I used to do tae bo years ago, but I probably could not do that now.

Hello! My name is Lisa, and I just joined yesterday. I have been wanting to get a treadmill for a year or so, and finally found one at a garage sale (for $10!). I'm hoping this will kick start some serious weight loss.

I've been overweight my entire life. I became acutely aware of it somewhere in elementary school. You have to love those height/weight measurements!

I'm starting in at 329, and would love to lose enough to not have to buy plus sized clothing anymore. :)

My name is Sara and though I signed up for this site a couple of years ago, it is only recently that I have hit my wall. I have always been a person who loves trying new things, and new adventures. My sister, cousin and I are headed to Cancun this summer, and I've found myself not even able to try some of the excursions as I am over the weight limit. Even if i wanted to, I can't even try. I am 29 and will be 30 in October, so I have decided to make a stand and make sure that I am able to do the things that I want to do. So here I am. My biggest problem is the minor slip up, which usually causes a rebound binge. Hoping to get support from others in the same position. Hi Folks,

I'm 23 year old student. I started this when I realised that I had a full 100 pounds to lose. I've been working at it for a few months now and am around 37 pounds down, but I've only just started using sparkpeople and am brand new to the group.

I really do have to do this. So many opprtunities are passing me by. And my genetics aren't the greatest eaither - my dad dies of a heart attack at 58 and my mum is diabetic in her 50s. Either i kill this fat or it'll kill me.

ok so maybe this where i should have said hello first! :) i'm 25 and new to the site...currently been back on the wagon for 10 days...have lost 3 pounds as of my weigh in yesterday...with 27 to go by my birthday in August and 97 as far as my long term goal goes.

I'm diggin' the fitness tracker section the most...i don't utilize the nutrition tracker much as i prefer to manually log that info in a notebook i've been keeping. Archaic i know but it works for me.

Hello! I have a bunch of weight to lose, and I know it is going to be a long journey. I am taking the "baby-step" approach, since drastic changes don't seem to last very long. Right now, I am focusing on walking around the block every day and changing what I eat for one meal a day (breakfast).
